The great economic boom in the Americas caused the shrinking of Indian territories. Vinnetou meets with other tribes and tries to unite them in the hope of negotiating new areas for settlement. He also meets Old Shatterhand. They even manage to negotiate some expansion of the areas inhabited by the Indians, but they soon discover that someone is on their trail. The villain Rollins represents the strongest adversary they have ever encountered. This forces the two "brothers" to split up and pursue different leads.

The film Vinnetou - The Last Shot was shot, like all the other episodes, in present-day Croatia.
