One of Louvre’s curators is found dead at the museum, and no one knows who is responsible. The body is found carved with mysterious symbols and expert cryptographer, Sophie (Audrey Tautou) is brought in to offer her services and decipher the code. This case hits close to home as the victim is her grandfather. For help, Sophie turns to America symbologist, Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and the two begin their investigation.

They soon discover that the victim was involved in a secret society, Priory of Sion. Their members hold the secrets about the early days of Christianity--powerful secrets the world is not ready, or willing, to know about. With the help of hints left in Da Vinci paintings, Sophie and Robert soon find themselves on the path to finding the real Holy Grail. But a subversive Catholic society is onto them and, feeling threatened, they're determined to stop Sophie and Robert from exposing their secrets that will surely shake Christianity to its core.
