No sooner has Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro) come to terms with the fact that his daughter wants to marry her boyfriend at any cost, than another blow is struck... Greg Jebal (Ben Stiller) feels that winning over his fiancée Pam's (Teri Polo) family, and especially his uptight father Jack Byrnes, was the worst thing he's ever done in his life.

He also suspects that when he meets Jack's parents, it will be worse. For now, he is accepted into the family, but only conditionally. At first, everything seems to be running smoothly.
