Charles Bosquier is the director of a prestigious boarding school for children of wealthy family. As his oldest son, Philippe fails his graduation exam due to his poor level of English, Mr Bosquier decide to send him in England, in the Mac Farell family. In Exchange their daughter, Shirley will spend her summer in France at the Bosquier's. Yet Philippe had made other plans, he intended to go on a sailing boat with some friends. He therefore proposes to one of his schoolmates, who is interested in visiting England, to switch places with him so that he can go sailing. At the same time, Shirley has arrived at the boarding school, but she has difficulty to cope with Mr Bosquier's strictness and she leaves to join Philippe on his boat leaving for the Havre. Before Mr Bosquier realizes Shirley has disappeared, he takes a plane to London because Mr Mac Farell has called him to warm about his son sickness...
