The cult detective film by the famous director Roman Polanski marked a turning point in the world of cinema and is often considered one of the key films of the noir genre.
Private investigator Jake Gittes is hired by an unknown lady to track down and map her husband's infidelity. However, his investigation leads him into mysterious water and land fraud that should have been hidden and forgotten forever. It all comes to a head one night in Chinatown.
