Considered one of John Carpenter's best movies, Halloween is a slasher fic that's come to develop and define an entire genre. The movie opens up on Halloween night, 1963 where the main antagonist, Michael Myers, brutally murders his older sister Judith and was sent away for 15 years. While being transferred to a new court date on October 30th, 1978, Michael Myers escapes and flees back to Smith's Grove and the scene of the horrific murder where he spends the film hunting down teenagers on Halloween night, murdering them in grotesque and gruesome ways. Only in the end is he stopped fully, paving the way for further sequels.
