Movie or TV Series Plot
Charles Bonnet, a brilliant forger of Old Master paintings, makes a high living with his daughter Nicole by occasionally selling his works. But slowly, the ground is beginning to burn under his feet, and the voices of doubt are growing in number. To complicate matters, he lends a statue of the alleged Cellini Venus to a forthcoming exhibition and, by formally signing the insurance policy, gives his consent to a chemical examination of the work, created many years ago by Nicole's grandfather. It is Nicole who, in trying to save the family secret, remembers the sympathetic thief Simon Dermott, whom she recently disturbed at home while "working". The skilled burglar will surely find a way to get the statue out of the museum full of guards and technical conveniences before it is subjected to Professor Bauer's merciless procedure. Simon knows from the start that this is a crazy idea, but he can't resist the charming Nicole's wishes.
