Movie or TV Series Plot
The film takes us to a luxury casino in Las Vegas. This casino needs to be taken care of and most importantly, someone needs to run it. A group of old mafia bosses take on this difficult task and call on a certain successful gambler, Sam (Ace) Rothestein (Robert De Niro), to carry it out. Sam at first refuses the offer of the job, but eventually comes to the conclusion that it doesn't pay to refuse anything to the Mafia and its influential figures. He eventually takes on the task and actually starts running the casino out of his own bravado. He transforms the place into something absolutely magnificent. Together with his team, he takes on the fake players, the incompetent employees and especially the big players. He simply does everything to make the casino profitable, which of course pleases the big bosses the most.
To protect him, these big bosses also send Nicky Santora (Joe Pesci), both his friend and especially a cunning gangster, to Las Vegas. It seems that nobody and nothing can threaten Ace's success, but everything is going well until he meets Ginger (Sharon Stone). This beautiful, intelligent and, above all, calculating lady changes his life and that of the others. Unfortunately, not for the better. The film is superbly acted and, under the direction of Martin Scorsese, is thrilling from the beginning to the very end.
