The adventure story about two legendary brothers of German origin - Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm - began filming in Prague in June 2003, directed by the well-known director Terry Gilliam (Monty Python's Flying Circus, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) and written by Ehren Kruger (The Ring). The fictional plot follows collectors of myths and legends, now called Jake and Will, who travel from village to village, collecting mysterious curses and assuming that by doing so they can protect the townspeople from magical monsters and incantations. But they'll need a good deal of courage when they encounter real witches and spells in person.

Filming locations:

The town of Karlstadt, where the Brothers Grimm arrive at the beginning of the film, was played by the castle Ledeč nad Sázavou, modified by the film's architects; the wedding of the Evil Queen took place in the castle chapel at Křivoklát. Filming also took place in Kutná Hora, Kost Castle, Kačina Castle and Prague.
